TASTING NOTES
Opens with delicate aromas of elderflower amplified by secondary notes of pear and fresh zesty lime. The palate displays both minerality and balancing rich flavours, plus a touch of oak, complemented by a deliberate frame of natural grape tannins underpinning a persistent, lingering palate. A serendipitous blend.
WINEMAKING
Created by combining the natural complementary attributes of the chosen varieties to create complexity and structure. Pinot grigio provides pear flavour and savouriness; riesling contributes acidity and minerality and sauvignon blanc livens the palate. The splash of aleatico heightens the aromatic structure of this unique blend. These four varieties were co-fermented and later blended with barrel-fermented chardonnay to round out the palate weight of this unique blend.

WINEMAKING
The grapes are picked early and gently pressed prior to the initial fermentation in stainless steel vats. Barrel fermentation and lees stirring contributes complexity and creamy texture, prior to the secondary fermentation – known as the Martinotti – or more commonly Charmat method, creating a dry, vivacious style that mirrors its European origins.

The FREEMAN CORONA range features two easy-drinking Italian inspired wines brimming with personality, flavour and texture. Both FREEMAN CORONA wines carry the unmistakable yellow capsule and were grown, made and bottled on the family estate.
The inspiration for the name of the CORONA series emanates from the blending of both grape names – Corvina and Rondinella.

This pure, zesty FREEMAN Corona Pinot Grigio 2017 is carefully crafted from early harvest grapes. A lightly chilled glass displays characteristic poached pear aromas, nuanced by notes of orange blossom. The lime-tinged palate displays intense refreshing and ample flavour, good palate weight that finishes with a minerally zing. Just pour and relax – and think of Italy.
WINEMAKING
FREEMAN Corona Pinot Grigio 2017 is a single varietal wine inspired by the aromatic white wines of two regions in northern Italy – Friuli and the Alto Adige. It is a crisp approachable style made from lightly pressed whole-bunch grapes. Palate structure derives from small batch fermentation, some in stainless steel, and a portion in old oak barrels, the latter contributing an attractive savouriness.
